A pep rally was held on Friday, Oct. 23 to kick off Red Ribbon Week. Special guest included Andress High School, Chico and Border Patrol. Students gathered around to hear guest speakers talk about the importance of staying drug free. Each grade level also created and presented a Drug Free Chant. To end the rally, Dowell students and participants made a pledge to be drug free and red ribbons were tied along the fence.

Here's what this week has in store for Dowell:
Monday, Oct. 26: Don't let drugs give you the blues. Wear red shirts and blue jeans.
Tuesday, Oct. 27: Shade out drugs/Pur a cap on drugs....Wear your sunglasses or a cap (or both)
Wednesday, Oct. 28: Don't let drugs make you turn inside out and go wacky. Wear your clothes inside out with wacky socks. (DEA presentation from 2-2:30 for 2nd and 3rd grade 2:30-3:00 4th and 5th grade). Parents are invited to attend the DEA presentation.
Thursday, Oct. 29: Don't let drugs ruin your dreams. Wear you pajamas with crazy hair.
Friday, Oct. 30: Say BOO to drugs...Wear your costume. (No masks or props such as weapons, no long capes and no costume accessories)
